Founder

  • As a child, Talisa was always the eager little gymnast climbing on everything. Anytime her parents took her to see acrobats perform or gymnasts compete, she would feel both mesmerized by what she saw and itching to have a turn flipping and flying too. She has now created the entertainment company that the child in her has longed for.

It started with her enthusiasm to share the joy and sense of community aerial dance brings: she began inviting friends and family to learn and practice aerial silks and other apparatuses with her outdoors, using her portable aerial rig. These community hang-outs quickly grew into a business as she began getting requests left and right to set up for parties and events. With so many people (especially families) making requests, she knew she needed to make it official, and founded Cirque Party LLC in the summer of 2023.

Talisa began training in gymnastics at the age of 3. Over the years her coaches included professional Chinese acrobats and Olympic medalists. She competed until high school, then continued in the world of gymnastics as a coach through college. She trained recreationally throughout her 20s until the pandemic hit. Post-pandemic, she found the world of aerial dance and immediately fell in love!

She now trains at Jagged and Aerial Physique, and is a Level One Aerial Physique certified instructor, as recognized by the American Circus Educators. She also has a professional background in education, a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, and over 14 years of experience as an early childhood educator/administrator. During the pandemic, she wrote and published the book Parenting Compass for Navigating the Early Childhood Years.

She is originally from Ketchikan, Alaska, and is ancestrally Indigenous (Tlingit) to the Southeast Alaskan region on her mother’s side. Tlaa.éi yóo xat duwasáakw (my name is Tlaa.éi). Wooshkeetáan Auk Kwaan naax xat sitee (I am of the Wooshkeetáan clan from Auk Bay).

Robin Gopal

Partner

  • Robin has loved having an audience ever since she learned to talk, and as a result, she spent her youth splitting her time between engineering and performing musical theater. As an adult, she stumbled into the world of circus and realized she had always been a circus performer at heart. Over the years, she has dedicated most of her time to the lyra, partner trapeze, contortion, and partner acrobatics as a student, performer, and coach at Commonwealth Circus Center and Esh Circus Arts.

Robin’s degree in Bioengineering has given her a unique perspective on teaching the circus arts. Robin uses her background to convey the foundational physics used in physical skills in a way that encourages creative problem-solving while ensuring safety for students. Robin has taught classes and workshops with the social circus organization Circus Up! and the international Arathi School of Dance, and is always eager to help people of all ages achieve goals they did not think were possible. Robin is passionate about helping everyone gain confidence, physical literacy, and a feeling of community through the exciting world of circus.
